Mindestversion: HP-UX 11.11 (11iv1)

Diese Version der HMC erfordert eine vorinstallierte Java-Runtime (mindestens 
Java5) bzw. bei Verwendung von Geraeten ueber die serieller Schnittstelle 
eine vorinstallierte Java Communication API (mindestens v1.4, nur fuer 
PA-RISC verfuegbar).

Aufgrund von Markenrecht- und Lizenzbedingungen muss die Java-Unterstuetzung 
explizit vom Kunden installiert werden.

Falls auf dem System noch nicht vorhanden, koennen die erforderlichen Pakete 
kostenlos von HP bezogen werden.

Eine kostenlose Registrierung ist notwendig, um die Pakete herunterladen zu 
koennen.

Die erforderlichen Betriebssystem-Patches fuer die jeweilige Version von HP-UX 
koennen unter folgender URL heruntergeladen werden:

INSTALLATION
------------

Die Datei HMC_vXX.XX_bxxxx_HP-UX11i.tar.gz in ein temporaeres Verzeichnis 
kopieren und im gewuenschten Zielverzeichnis entpacken.

Im Zielverzeichnis (hmc-XX.XX) befindet sich das Startscript hmc.sh. Falls
sich die Java-Runtime im Verzeichnis /opt/java6/jre (Default fuer Java6) 
befindet und keine seriellen Schnittstellen benutzt werden, kann die HMC 
sofort gestartet werden.

Befindet sich die Java-Runtime in einem anderen Verzeichnis (z.B. bei 
Java5 in /opt/java5), muss das Startscript angepasst werden oder ein 
Link auf das dementsprechende Verzeichnis erstellt werden.

Wird die HMC mit einer seriellen Schnittstelle verwendet, muss noch das
Script postinstall_serial.sh ausgefuehrt werden. Dabei sind die 
Installationsverzeichnisse der Java-Runtime sowie der Communication-API
anzugeben, z.B.

# ./postinstall_serial.sh /opt/java6/jre /opt/java1.4

PREREQUISITES
-------------

Minimum version: HP-UX 11.11 (11iv1)

This version of the HMC requires a pre-installed Java-Runtime (Java5 or 
greater). If hopf devices are connected via a serial port, the Java 
Communication API has to be installed as well (v1.4 or greater, 
available for the PA-RISC platform only).

Due to trademark and license terms and conditions, Java support has to
be installed explicitely by the customer.

If not already installed, the needed software can be obtained from HP 
without any charge.

INSTALLATION
------------

The file HMC_vXX.XX_bxxxx_HP-UX11i.tar.gz has to be copied into a 
temporary directory and extracted to the designated destination.

The start script hmc.sh is located in the destination folder (hmc-XX.XX). 
If the Java runtime is located in the folder /opt/java6/jre (default for 
Java6) and no support for serial devices is needed, the HMC can be started 
immediately using the start script.

If another Java version than Java6 is installed or the Java runtime is 
located in another directory than /opt/java6/jre the start script has
to be adapted to the appropriate location or a symbolic link has to be
created accordingly.

If support for serial devices is needed, the script postinstall_serial.sh
has to be executed. It requires two parameters (first: location of the
Java runtime, second: location of the Communication API), e.g.

# ./postinstall_serial.sh /opt/java6/jre /opt/java1.4
